Hikinjo is here to help facilitate a reliable, safe and successful environment and is here to help resolve issues should they arise. In return, we ask for your cooperation and timely response to the Hikinjo’s team.
This document will continue to change as we grow and continue to think about what's best for the Hikinjo community.
Hikinjo takes breaches of the Community Guidelines seriously. If our team receives reports that you have breached any of the Guidelines below, we may take action to remove any content, Posted Task or Offer You have submitted to the Hikinjo Service or cancel or suspend Your account and/or any Task Contracts.
If you suspect a member has violated any Community Guidelines please report it to Hikinjo ASAP. Use the Report feature located within the task or comments section, or Contact us: support@hikinjo.com
- Be kind and respectful to your neighbours.
- No hateful language or gossiping about other people is allowed. Let us maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Follow UK laws. All users of Hikinjo must follow UK Cyber Laws.
- Do not discriminate. We do not tolerate racism or discrimination of any kind.
- Use your real identity. All Hikinjo users must be real people.
- Respect the privacy of other neighbours. Posting or sharing private information, photos, or videos about other persons without their consent is illegal and disrespectful in the UK.
- Do not post anything offensive.
Code of Conduct
- We reserve the right to delete or ban those who deem to be using Hikinjo inappropriately.
- When contacting other users: Please treat all other users with courtesy and respect.
- Abusive replies are not allowed. All replies with hateful or defamatory comments are strictly prohibited.
- All replies to must be about what the Kinjo is offering. Replies containing other commercial offers are not allowed on Hikinjo.
- Impersonating other users, including supplying fake phone numbers, is not permitted. Those who are found to be doing so may lose the ability to use Hikinjo.
Receiving Inappropriate Replies:
- If a user has become rude mid-conversation, remember that you can rate your experiences with them.
- If the reply is threatening or hateful, please report it to our support team support@hikinjo.com. We will take the desired action.
Environmental Responsibility:
Hikinjo is committed to environmental responsibility. We seek to make a positive environmental impact through our actions, and we expect our Third Parties and Users to share these ideas and goals. We actively seek and favour Users that provide eco-efficient, sustainable products and services. We encourage everyone to adopt the following strategic priorities:
Eco-Efficiency and Resource Reduction:
Third parties must maximize the ecological efficiency of products and services throughout the lifecycle, including supply, production, distribution, transportation, use and end of life. All types of waste, including water and energy, must be reduced or eliminated at the source or through activities such as modification of manufacturing processes, maintenance and installation, replacement of materials, conserving, recycling and reusing materials.
Hazardous Substances: Chemicals and other materials posing a hazard if released to the environment are to be identified and managed to ensure their safe handling, movement, storage, use, recycling or reuse and disposal.
Wastewater and Solid Waste: Wastewater and solid waste generated from industrial operations, processes and sanitation facilities should be characterized, monitored, controlled and treated as necessary prior to discharge or disposal.
Air Emissions: Air emissions of volatile organic chemicals, aerosols, corrosives, particulates, ozone-depleting chemicals, and combustion by-products generated by operations need to be determined. identified, monitored, controlled and treated as necessary prior to disposal.
Environmental Permits and Reporting: All required environmental permits (e.g., discharge monitoring), approvals, and registrations are to be obtained, maintained, and kept current and their operational and reporting requirements are to be followed.
Reporting: We may send periodic data requests which will support our environmental reporting needs, and we ask for your cooperation in our endeavour to improve our environment reporting and performance.
- Publicly sharing private information
- To maintain the integrity and authenticity of Hikinjo our members can only share private contact information once an offer is accepted via private messages.
- To protect your security, private contact information or third-party links, are not allowed to be shared in public areas of the website, including comments and attachments. This
- includes, but is not limited to, corporate websites, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, personal email, phone number, address or personal website.
- What are unacceptable behaviours on Hikinjo?
- We encourage neighbours to have conversations about the issues that matter to them in a way that is constructive, civil, and builds community. This is not always easy because we care passionately about the places we call home – our neighbourhoods. At Hikinjo, we do not tolerate these negative behaviours and this may result in your content being removed and/or your account being suspended.
- Hatred or violence: Comments or actions that promote hatred or violence against specific groups of people, including any representatives of Hikinjo, will not be tolerated. Racist content or behaviour to incite racism is also not permitted.
- Discrimination
Comments that are derogatory towards any members of the community, or contain vulgarities used in the context of a personal attack/insult, will not be tolerated. We are committed to removing any content (posts, comments, profile photos) or racist behaviour that violate this policy. Furthermore, neighbours repeatedly engaging in this behaviour will be subject to temporary or permanent removal from Hikinjo. - Hikinjo will not accept any sort of discriminate against, threaten, or insult individuals or groups based on race, colour, ethnicity, immigration status, national origin, religion or faith, sex or gender identity, sexual orientation, housing status, disability, or medical condition. Use negative stereotypes, caricatures, or generalizations about a group of individuals. This includes the use of insulting imagery or memes.
LGBTQIA+ equality - LGBTQIA+ stands as an acronym for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and/or Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual community. Homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, and any other mistreatment, aggression or unkindness shown to people on the basis of their gender and/or sexual orientation is expressly prohibited on Hikinjo. LGBTQIA+ issues have a place in neighbourhoods everywhere -- that’s why we allow content discussing or celebrating LGBTQIA+ matters anywhere on Hikinjo as long as it adheres to our Community Guidelines.
- Harassment
- Actions or comments that may cause distress or jeopardize other members of the community are not allowed. This may include persistent disturbance, torment, intimidation or communication aimed at influencing other members' offers, all of which are strictly not allowed.
- Illegal Behaviour
- Hikinjo has a zero-tolerance policy to any illegal behaviour, including theft, vandalism and any unlawful activity such as the use of drugs or weapons. Show or elicit support for hate groups or people promoting hateful activities will not be tolerated.
- Trolling
- Tasks and comments that are deemed to be trolling or inappropriate are prohibited. Comments that are considered to be off-topic or inflammatory in nature to invoke other members of the community are also not allowed.
- No alcohol/smoking based Tasks
- Alcohol/smoking related tasks regarding the supply or sale of alcohol/ cigarettes/ or any form of electronic cigarettes are strictly prohibited on Hikinjo. You should not make an offer on tasks that request for any alcoholic beverage to be sold or delivered to the Poster from any location. This includes such tasks that ask for delivery of online purchased alcohol/cigarettes, purchases from liquor stores on someone’s behalf or purchase of alcohol/cigarettes outside of stores.
- Example 1: Sam posts a task to have a bottle of spirits delivered to him. There are no liquor stores nearby, but Helena has vodka in her cupboard so she posts a comment telling Sam that he could buy that from her instead. Hellen’s comment and the task are unsupported and Hikinjo holds the authority to remove them.
- Real Identity:
- Hikinjo’s Agreement requires that every neighbour uses their full, real name when signing up on Hikinjo. By real name, we mean the first name that you use when introducing yourself to neighbours, friends, and colleagues and your legal last name. It Is acceptable by Hikinjo to use a nickname, initials, or shortened version of your name as the first name on your account, as long as it’s the name you are known by in the community and not an attempt to obscure your real first name. Hikinjo aims to provide a safe environment thus require that all neighbours verify their address and phone number. If you are a verified person, there will be a tick sign shown on the display picture. Verified users will have a certain advantages available.
- Fraudulent Hikinjo reviews
- Trust is crucial on Hikinjo, therefore creating or requesting fraudulent reviews for your Hikinjo profile is not supported. This two-way system holds everyone accountable for their own actions and behaviours. Maintaining our integrity, authenticity, honesty and transparency is critical to our Hikinjo community.
- Example 1: Roy is new to Hikinjo and believes that having more reviews increases the chance of his offer being accepted on a task. He decides to set up a second fraudulent account and assign himself to fake tasks to leave himself fabricated reviews. The Hikinjo team becomes aware of Roy's behaviour and he is immediately contacted for breaching Community Guidelines.
- Example 2: Beth posted a task to have someone install her blinds. Jane was assigned to the task and completed the task as per Beth’s instructions. However, Jane scratched some of the paint off the wall in the process and offered to pay Beth in cash for the damage as long as she left him a good review on Hikinjo. Beth knew this would be breaking the Community Guidelines and advised him he would write an honest and fair review, sharing both positive and negative opinions of his work. Beth was correct in declining Jane’s request to forge a positive review.
- Hikinjo’s Payment Account
- Cash payments are not supported on the Hikinjo platform. To ensure that you get paid for a task our stripe/q-wallet system securely holds the task funds until you mark the task as complete.
- Accurate banking details
- To ensure a seamless transition of funds, please ensure your banking details are up to date in your Payment settings. It's important that your banking details are in your name and belong to you.
- Do not engage in Harmful Activities: Fraudulent content, phishing, or content we deem to be spam is not permitted.
- Posting spam. Spam is generally defined as unwanted, unsolicited, and/or repeated actions that negatively affect neighbours and the Hikinjo community. This may include but is not limited to
- Sending large amounts of private messages to users who are not expecting them
- Contacting people with unwanted content or requests
- Repeatedly posting the same or similar content
- Posting unoriginal/templated content with no personalization or original commentary
- Phishing. Phishing is an attempt to access another's account or record their personal information by getting them to enter their login or other sensitive information into a fake website.
- No illegal or regulated goods or services
Hikinjo is a family-friendly platform, open to neighbours of all age group. The safety of all our neighbours, young and young-at-heart, is a priority. As a result, we prohibit the purchase, trade, sale or distribution of many items that are commonly known to be age-restricted or government-regulated. - When offering or seeking goods or services on Hikinjo, make sure that you’re complying with local laws and not engaging in illegal transactions. Posts may not include unrealistic or exaggerated claims, and must accurately depict the product or service being offered. Additionally, we ask that you help keep Hikinjo a safe and trustworthy place by not participating in certain business practices, or listing the items below for purchase, trade, sale or distribution. - Animal sales:
- Live animal sales not allowed (re-homing pets with a small fee is allowed)
- Stud Services
- How to re-home a pet
- For animal welfare reasons, we do not allow the sale of animals on Hikinjo. However, there are many reasons a family may need to relocate their pets, for example: loss of job or home, long-term illness or injury, moving to a pet-free area, and more. Re-homing fees allow neighbours to find safe and loving homes for their pets, while also helping them recoup costs for things like food, vaccinations, spaying or neutering, and other veterinary care.
- Drugs and alcohol:
- Alcohol, including homebrews
- Drug paraphernalia
- Marijuana and CBD
- Prescription drugs and prescription medical devices
- Tobacco
- Dangerous chemicals/Acids
- Sale or purchase of prescription drugs without a prescription
- No promotion for sale of unapproved substances, irrespective of any claims against legality.

- Franchising, investment, direct sales, or multi-level marketing financial opportunities
- Listings for discounts or free items as part of a referral program

- Account eligibility
- We know you're eager to set up an account and get started on Hikinjo but we need you to make sure you qualify for the below:
- 16 years or older:
- All members of the Hikinjo community must be 16 years or older to enter into a paid service contract. This is a legal requirement as people under the age of 16 are not able to enter into a legal contract to earn with Hikinjo. Hikinjo reserves the right to request proof of age should this be necessary.
- Below 16 years
- All members of the Hikinjo community under the age of 16 cannot provide any paid services. In case of a free service, their guardian will be notified using the Families Program if applicable. They are free to use any services they wish to.
- Legal working rights:
- All Providers must be legally entitled to perform the task. To maintain the highest standards in our Hikinjo community, we seek to avoid situations that may cause legal risks to any of our members.
- No duplicate accounts
- Members of the Hikinjo Community may only have a single, active account on the platform. Since your account reflects your reputation in the market and showcases your skills and abilities, any duplicate accounts that attempt to conceal a member's history will be deleted immediately. This means that all content posted by additional accounts will be removed and any associated task contracts will be cancelled.
- Account administration
- Members should make sure that at all times they follow the below:
- No account transfers
- Your account is your responsibility and you must maintain control of it. It must not be transferred to another person as your account and reviews reflect your skills and
- abilities. This is crucial in enabling other members to make informed decisions about working with you. This also helps to maintain the integrity, transparency and authenticity of our community.
- No duplicate accounts
- Members may only have a single, active account on the platform. As your account reflects your reputation in the marketplace and represents your skills and abilities, any duplicate accounts attempting to disguise a member's history will be removed immediately.
- A single account allows you to post tasks as a Poster and make offers as a Provider . If you're looking to switch between being a Poster and a Provider , you do not need to create a second account.
- Cooperating with other members of the Hikinjo Community and Hikinjo’s Staff.
- Where members of the Hikinjo Community or Hikinjo Staff request information, both Posters and Providers are required to respond within a reasonable time frame. This is aligned with the building blocks of mutual respect and is required to maintain courteous and constructive conversation.
- Identity on Hikinjo
- Hikinjo is committed to building a community platform that is a positive and safe environment for all. This commitment is grounded in the principles of transparency and respect. To help foster trust in the community, all members are requested to have a profile photo (if not comfortable can leave it) and name that accurately identifies them.
- Fake/ miscellaneous photos & names are not permitted on the Hikinjo platform. Members that do not have an accurate profile photo or name that meets Hikinjo standards will be asked to change their details. Hikinjo profile standards
- Name
- Your real name as confirmed by your identification documents (passport, drivers licence etc).
- Profile photo
- A clear front-on profile photo of a members face, so it’s easy recognisable other members if you are comfortable to show it as your display photo.
- Are there any task posting guidelines?
- The marketplace helps you get more done. To create a safe, respectful and nurturing environment, we need you to follow the guidelines below:
- Tasks must be legal
- To ensure a safe and secure experience for all our members, all tasks posted must be legal. Soliciting, inducing or encouraging illegal acts are strictly prohibited. Scams are also not tolerated on Hikinjo and will be removed.
- Prohibited items list
- Tasks must not relate to weapons or unlawful activity, which may result in the furtherance of a crime. Any requests for drugs, including prescription drugs or drug injecting equipment, are prohibited. Not only may these activities have serious legal ramifications, but they are also against the spirit and values of Hikinjo.
- No escort or adult services
- Escort and adult services tasks are strictly prohibited on Hikinjo. This includes tasks or comments which are obscene or sexually explicit in nature. Posting Massage tasks is also not supported.
- No cash-based task
- Tasks that ask someone to withdraw cash, buy gift cards or vouchers, buy any type of currency including cryptocurrency, or send money via methods such as direct bank transfer or PayPal or any transaction of a similar nature to any of the above are strictly prohibited.
- Clear scope, time and budget required
- To help get your tasks completed, it’s important that your task has a clear scope, time and budget.
- Scope: The task description should clearly state and detail what you need to do. Adding as much information as possible helps the Provider understand expectations.
- Time: Does the task need to be completed on a specific day or can it be flexible with the Provider? If specific, mention it in the task description.
- Budget: Setting a fair price for the amount of time and effort required for the task is crucial. Hikinjo does not endorse low pricing of tasks and a task may be moderated if found to be.
- These help Providers to know whether they have the skills and availability to complete your task. It will also help avoid any misunderstandings about expectations along the way.
- Task-based posts
- The Hikinjo marketplace is a task-based platform that encourages you to outsource all the weird and quirky things you might need to be done on any given day. However, there are a few types of tasks that are not supported to maintain the integrity of the platform.
- Tasks that are deceitful in nature are not allowed. This includes but is not limited to requesting fake business reviews, social media likes and follows.
- Example 1: Sasha posted a task asking Kinjo Providers to leave 5-star reviews on her company's website and the application. Sasha's task can be immediately cancelled by Hikinjo if found or reported by anyone using the platform. She was told that her task did not meet community guidelines.
- Academic activities and homework-based tasks are strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, completing an assignment, test, or class on behalf of someone. In addition, learning support in the form of proofreading, editing, planning, structuring, referencing, and feedback on the learning work of others is also not supported.
- Example 2: Carol posted a task requesting a Provider to proofread her assignment, a 1,000-word essay on one of her Uni/school assignment. Carol was contacted shortly after posting her task and advised the post had been cancelled, as it was a proofreading task and therefore not supported on Hikinjo. Hikinjo holds all the authority to cancel such tasks if reported by anyone.
- We also don’t allow tasks that request quotes for work to be done outside of Hiking.
- Example 3: Ben posted a minimum priced task asking for a Provider to come to his home and give him a quote to paint his 4 bedroom house. The task was cancelled by Hikinjo because it was asking for a quote and not for someone to actually paint the house. In such a situation Hikinjo’s platform provides with consultancy fees wherein the Provider can upload his charges and proceed ahead with his task.
- Tasks that require someone to be nude, topless or wear clothing like lingerie, swimwear and gym wear are not supported.
- Example 4: Jimmy posted a task looking for a Provider to model for a bikini photoshoot. The task was cancelled as the Provider would be required to wear a bikini.
- Tasks that involve investigating or gathering information about a person or business without their knowledge and consent will not be supported. Debt collection tasks are also not supported.
- Advertisement
- We support businesses outsourcing tasks on Hikinjo to help their business grow. Hikinjo, can be used as a platform for business advertisements, for a job board and posting permanent job ads. Hikinjo can be used as a platform for any requests to be employed.
- Example 1: Jon posted a task asking for a part-time or full-time job as a builder. The task was supported by Hikinjo as job request are supported in the Hikinjo marketplace. Example 2: Aman owns a driving school and posted a ask looking for full-time driving instructors, with an hourly rate. Aman’s task was supported as it was considered a business advertisement in the Hikinjo marketplace.
- No alcohol/cigarettes/tobacco bases products- related Tasks
- Alcohol-related tasks regarding the supply or sale of alcohol/ cigarettes/tobacco based products are strictly prohibited on Hikinjo. The sale of alcohol includes any of the following:
- Barter or exchange
- Offer, agree or attempt to sell
- Expose, send, forward or deliver for sale
- Cause or permit to be sold or offered for sale.
- The supply of alcohol includes to dispose of or deliver.
- For further clarification, please see the examples of prohibited tasks below.
- Example 1: Lina posted a task for someone to buy and deliver beer from a liquor store. The task was removed because it requested a Provider to buy and supply alcohol to a Poster, which is not supported.
- Example 2: After a long day at work, Connor posts a task for someone to bring him a bottle of wine. He says he would be happy to purchase a bottle that a Provider already has at their home. Connor’s task is not supported so was removed by Hikinjo because it requested the sale and supply of alcohol.
- Medical/Health related
- Hikinjo does not feature medical or health-related functionalities that are misleading or potentially harmful. Hikinjo does not in any way promote Old-Age caring, nursing or caring required when someone is ill.
